The legal industry is known for soaring workloads and high stress levels.
If you’re a small firm or a solo practitioner, you have the additional pressure of running your own business, too. Or if you’re a mid-size or large firm trying to modernize, it can be hard to know where to get started.
If this sounds familiar, you could benefit from experienced paralegal support. However, with so much on your plate, it can be difficult to allocate the time and energy to finding the right fit for your needs.
CORE Paralegals exists to help busy practices manage their workload and grow their businesses.
Strong paralegal support is the core of any successful legal practice.
Whether accurately drafting documents, efficiently running transactions, or independently managing files, our team helps free up your time so that you can manage more complex tasks while increasing billable hours.
Our team
Our team has the technical acumen and ability to quickly adapt to your systems.
We have significant experience with a broad range of tools and technology, and can easily integrate with—and even improve—your current systems. We also have a strong track record of supporting firms with modernization and digitization processes.
RAQUEL STRUTHERS
Founder & Senior Paralegal
Raquel Struthers deeply understands the challenges of running a modern law firm. Before founding CORE Paralegals, she was the first and only paralegal at a busy mid-sized firm for a number of years. She spearheaded the development of their paralegal department, which fostered her love of systems implementation and training. Instead of focusing on one single area—which is typical of paralegals—she needed to learn both Real Estate and Corporate law to excel in her role and provide more comprehensive support.
Colleagues describe Raquel as extremely proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful. She enjoys nothing more than solving problems and cleaning up messes, leaving things better than when she found them. Starting her own paralegal firm has reinforced her love for the legal industry, and she views her role as an opportunity to support others in real-world situations.
LEAH BEER
Corporate Paralegal
Leah Beer knows that busy lawyers and firms need to get work done. In providing fast and reliable corporate paralegal services, she helps lawyers save time and get back to what really matters: increasing their skills and growing their practices.
Highly motivated, organized, and reliable, Leah has a drive to get things done properly—one of her favourite mottos is “work smarter, not harder”. She promptly finishes tasks and can quickly adapt to new tools and systems, saving hours of time in the process. She thrives doing corporate work and also has a background in legal administration and operations. This diverse skill set helps her understand what’s truly needed behind the scenes to run a successful legal practice.
When she’s not deep in corporate documents, Leah enjoys being outdoors with her dog and running a photography business.
LYNNET RESH
Conveyancer
Lynnet Resh knows firsthand how stressful the real estate process can be. As a seasoned conveyancer, her mission is clear: simplify the process and alleviate stress for both attorneys and clients.
Initially trained as a red seal chef, an unexpected pivot introduced her to the legal world. Almost two decades on, she has gained experience across numerous areas of the law—including civil litigation, employment law, family law, and more—but conveyancing remains her focus.
Known for her genuine and friendly demeanour, Lynnet’s approach is always detail oriented and client-first. As property transfers often come with inherent stress, Lynnet provides an assuring touchpoint for clients, ensuring a smooth transition without added strain.
Outside of work, Lynnet loves getting outside with her white lab and co-worker, Zoey. She envisions future growth within CORE Paralegals and is driven by a simple but profound motto: “Work hard and be nice.”
LINDSAY EVANISHIN
Conveyancer
Conveyancers provide peace of mind. That is, according to Lindsay Evanishin.
Real estate and development transactions can be stressful. Through empathetic and efficient service, Lindsay works hard to transform any potential frustrations into positive experiences.
Her interest in real estate law blossomed in 2020 when she landed a conveyancing role in her hometown. After years dedicated to raising her sons, this position reignited her enthusiasm for learning and her commitment to serving others.
“Being a conveyancer requires wearing multiple hats. Sometimes it’s providing moral support and reassurance, and other times it’s educating clients on how to accomplish the tasks of being a homeowner. This variety is one of the reasons why I love what I do.”
These days, Lindsay enjoys reading case law while sipping Sunday morning coffee and spending time with family, Fiona (her Great Dane), and friends at the lake and ski hill.
